Fleet windscreen replacement, at your depot

For a working vehicle the glass is rarely the expensive part. The downtime is.

We come to your yard, depot or site and do the work where the vehicle already is — cars, utes, vans, prime movers, rigids, buses and coaches. Multiple vehicles in one visit, chip repairs done before they become replacements, and one invoice.

Why on-site

The arithmetic of downtime

This is the whole argument for doing fleet glass in the yard rather than in a workshop.

A prime mover sitting in a workshop queue is not earning, and the driver waiting with it is still being paid. A bus off the road on a school run has to be covered by another bus. A trade ute that cannot legally be driven takes a two-person crew off a job, not one vehicle off the road.

None of that appears on the glass invoice, which is why comparing quotes on glass price alone gets fleet managers into trouble. The cheaper quote that requires the vehicle to be delivered, left, and collected is usually the expensive one.

We work the other way round: we come to the vehicle, at a time that fits your run, and where possible we do several vehicles in the same visit. Chip repairs on a scheduled round are cheaper still, because a chip caught at thirty minutes never becomes a ninety-minute replacement plus a calibration.

What we cover

Every vehicle class in one supplier

One phone number for the whole yard, rather than a car place and a truck place.

Cars, utes and vans

Sales fleets, trade utes, courier vans and pool cars. Chip repairs, replacements, side and rear glass, and ADAS calibration on the same visit — see cars and side and rear glass.

Prime movers and rigids

Heavy transport, tippers, tilt trays and B-double cabs, including split and two-piece screens and older cabs cut to pattern — see trucks.

Buses and coaches

School, charter and route fleets. Large laminated screens, one-piece and two-piece splits, fitted on your yard to safety standard — see buses.

Motorhomes and hire fleets

Rental RV and campervan fleets, where oversized and hard-to-source glass and turnaround pressure both apply — see motorhomes.

Plant and machinery cabs

Excavator, loader and tractor cab glass where it is automotive-type flat or bonded glass. Ring and describe it and we will tell you honestly whether it is ours.

A chip repair is thirty minutes. A crack is a day off the road.

The single highest-return thing a fleet can do about glass is get chips looked at in the week they appear. On a scheduled round we repair them in the yard while the vehicles are parked up anyway.

How it works

How we run fleet work

Deliberately simple. No portal to log into and no account manager.

01

One number, straight to the person doing the work

You ring Warren, not a call centre. The person who takes the details is the person who turns up, which means nothing is lost in a handover.

02

Scheduled chip rounds

For fleets over a certain size we come through on a regular cycle and repair everything repairable while the vehicles are parked. This is where the money is saved.

03

Priority call-outs for off-road vehicles

A vehicle that cannot legally be driven gets moved to the front. Tell us it is a defect or a roadworthy issue and it is treated as urgent — see Queensland roadworthy rules.

04

Multiple vehicles per visit

If you have three utes with chips and a truck needing a screen, that is one attendance, not four.

05

Account invoicing

One invoice on account rather than a card payment per vehicle, with the rego and the work against each line so your maintenance records stay clean.

06

Insurance or direct, whichever suits

We work with every insurer and with fleet policies. Where an excess exceeds the job we will say so — see insurance claims.

Compliance

The compliance side, briefly

Two things a fleet has to care about that a private owner mostly does not.

Defect risk across a fleet

Damaged glass in a driver’s critical viewing area, a crack over about 150 mm or a chip over about 16 mm can attract a defect notice. Across thirty vehicles that stops being bad luck and starts being a maintenance system problem. A scheduled round is the cheapest answer to it.

Driver assistance systems on new heavy vehicles

Lane departure warning and forward collision systems are increasingly fitted to prime movers and coaches, and they need calibration after glass work exactly as a car does. We do it on site rather than sending the vehicle on.

Records

Invoices carry the rego and the work done, so glass shows up properly in your maintenance history if you are ever asked for it.

Questions

Still wondering

More on the full FAQ page, or just call 0451 180 046.

Do you come to our depot?

Yes — that is how nearly all our fleet work is done. We attend depots, yards, sites and car parks anywhere across Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and Bayside, with no call-out fee, and we can do several vehicles in the one visit.

Can you set up scheduled chip repairs for our fleet?

Yes, and for most fleets it is the single best thing you can do about glass costs. We come through on a regular cycle and repair everything repairable while the vehicles are parked up, which stops thirty-minute repairs turning into ninety-minute replacements plus calibration.

Do you do trucks and buses as well as cars?

All of it. Cars, utes, vans, prime movers, rigids, tippers, buses, coaches and motorhomes — including two-piece split screens and older cabs cut to pattern. One supplier for the whole yard rather than a car place and a truck place.

Can we get one invoice on account?

Yes. We invoice on account with the registration and the work recorded against each line, so glass appears properly in your maintenance records rather than as a pile of individual card payments.

How fast can you get to a vehicle that is off the road?

A vehicle that cannot legally be driven is treated as priority. Tell us it is a defect notice or a roadworthy issue and it goes to the front of the day. Most of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and Bayside is same-day if you ring in the morning.

Do new trucks and coaches need ADAS calibration too?

Increasingly, yes. Lane departure warning and forward collision systems are being fitted to prime movers and coaches, and they need the camera recalibrated after a windscreen replacement just as a car does. We do it on site so the vehicle is not sent anywhere else.
